DVD ROM disappears

#1 Post by jayshi827 » Wed Dec 05, 2007 10:29 pm

Hi everyone, I encountered a weird problem recently. I installed Daemon Tools one day and after that I found my real DVD ROM was gone! I did a research on this kinda thing and tried a lot of ways and none of them could solve the problem. Then I figure that all the solutions are based on IDE interface but I think my DVD uses PCMCIA adapters (donno exactly what it is!) Anyone knows how to make my DVD ROM show up again?
Thanks in advance!

P.S. I am using T43.

How about uninstalling Daemon Tools, or restoring your system to a date prior to installing them?

I uninstalled Daemon Tools and it didn't work, and I haven't backed up my system for quite a while (guess I really learned a lesson!), so restoring is not an option for me...

Are you using an external DVD drive? Or are you talking about the one in the UltraBay Slim?

Hi dash, it is not an external. I am talking about the internal DVD ROM that came along with my T43.

Check this out for missing CD or DVD drives :

http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;314060

Registry changes may be required to get your drive back.
