T22 LCD and Battery

#1 Post by Stin » Tue Nov 16, 2004 12:14 am

Hi I got a T22 off a hardware swap forum a few months ago and its working great. Couple questions:

My battery has only 55 cycles on it and it holds just 21/38.8 Watts
When I first got it it has less than 20 cycles and held 32/38.8 Watts. Ive drained the battery to 0% and recharged it but cant get over 21. Any tips?

While on battery power my LCD dims even on the same brightness setting as AC power.(appears about 1 step lower) Is this normal? Also it seems that my LCD dims for split seconds while on battery power periodically while under heavy load. Kinda flashing as it dims a bit and regains full brightness. I have warranty until late Feb 05 so is this an issue with the laptop or the battery?

Also where can I get a list of walk-in places to get warranty service?

Usually the display dims a little when you unplug the AC unless you change the settings to eliminate that.
As far as the other flashing goes, that does not sound right and it would be a laptop problem not a battery problem. If you have warranty you may want to contact IBM and discuss these issues with them.

thanks for the reply,
I dont know if this is the usual dimming of the display, I know you can set it up to lower the brightness by a certain amount when unplugged but this isnt it. On the same setting as AC it dims even more. Not a whole lot, but 1 setting lower.

Use your warranty. That is what it is for. If it is broken IBM will take care of you, Fast.
