First, please inform if you have read the installation procedure in the thread Thinkpad Fan Noise Problem: Light at the End of the Tunnel (see the post by Shimodax of Sun Nov 27, 2005 3:35 pm ). Now, if you have read this installation procedure, please explain what you are in doubt about? Your question as of now is a little... hmmm... "unspecific", in my opinion.

Personally, I use (AND I also recommend!) Notebook Hardware Control (see page 4, the post of Mon Jul 30, 2007 6:46 am) - it is easy to instal, runs fine, controls the fan wonderfully, allows you to undervolt your CPU and to downclock your GPU (both resulting in less heat meaning fan being "on" less often, and battery lasting longer!). Have a look at NHC - it's for free! :-)

Best regards,

Johan

I may not have the latest version of TP Fan Control, but with the year-old version I'm running, it's really just a matter of reading the documentation and editing the .INI file. The .INI is also self-documented. Start up the applet, and there you are.

Feel free to post more specific questions after you've tried this route. ;) We have faith in your abilities.
