Bluetooth III module in a T40?

I have a Bluetooth III/Modem CDC which I would like to use in a T40. Is this possible? IBM specifies the T42 use Bluetooth III and the T40 use Bluetooth II but shouldn't the T40 be able to handle the Bluetooth III card?

My problem is that I have a left over Bluetooth III card bought for an X40 which I subsequently reutrned. I'd rather put it in my sister's T40 than try to sell it but I don't know if the III card will even work in a T40. Guess I could try it but if anyone knows please reply. Thanks.
