T23 / DVD issue / web browser scrolling / battery charging
I just acquired my T23, loaded XP Pro and WinDVD into it. The DVD plays audio but no video. I've looked through the archives here and spent some time on the IBM site checking drivers, bios, etc. Any suggestions?
I've noticed the web browser scrolling is very choppy with the down arrow on the keyboard or using the trackball with IE and Mozilla. Is that how thinkpads operate or can I alter this?
Is there some way to shut down the battery charging once it reaches 100% charge without removing the battery?
Thanks in advance...

1. May be you have not installed the required codecs?Double Down wrote:I just acquired my T23, loaded XP Pro and WinDVD into it. The DVD plays audio but no video. I've looked through the archives here and spent some time on the IBM site checking drivers, bios, etc. Any suggestions?

2. May T23 was perfect, may be you need to replace the keyboard?
3. The notebook will not be charged between 96 and 100 %, i.e. you never need to remove the battery.

haha that's interesting. codecs missing would or could make the video not appear.. and that could also be caused by not having proper video drivers/chipset installed (this would also account for why the computer ran so choppy). i would tend to think the second option was what was causing it since windvd will install the codecs or whatever else your computer is going to need to play back dvd's during the installation of the program.

i haven't tried my dvd software yet. all i have is windvd... but i've never tried any other software, but if i remember correctly windvd is what the thinkpad came with AND they have an update from ibm themselves on their page. so if i have any trouble i'll just get the update from them.
