Can T30 use desktop P4 400MHZ CPU?

#1 Post by guest2183 » Sat Nov 20, 2004 11:43 pm

I installed a P4 2.4GHZ 533MHZ FSB on my T30 and it booted up as 1.8GHZ 400MHZ FSB

Would I be able to buy a P4 2.4GHZ 400MHZ FSB for a desktop and plug it in and work? These puppies are hard to get and I have to pay a slight premium. It would be worth it to get it if it does work.

thanks

No! You can only use Mobile Pentium 4M processors, not Mobile Pentium 4s.

The T30 comes with a P4-M 1.8GH

I put in a regular P4 2.4GH 533MH FSB and the T30 actually booted up with the desktop CPU... I am wondering if anybody has tried to put in a P4 2.4GH 400MH FSB for a desktop and see if it works?
