Bluetooth card not found in Device Manager - T42

#1 Post by kenk » Sat Jan 05, 2008 2:41 pm

I have purchased a new BMDC200B card (FRU: 27R1880) on Ebay. I installed the bthwxp1o.exe software download. The 56K modem was found, but the Bluetooth device was not.....as shown in Device Manager.

Any ideas what might be wrong?? BTW, my T42 (2373-K2U) is Bluetooth ready...the antenna was installed and the wire connected.

Thanks,
Ken

Welcome to the forum!

I am not sure the below is exactly what you are looking for, but in any case try have a look in the thread: Bluetooth device not found and there in particular see the post by GomJabbar of Sun Apr 22, 2007 10:18 pm, which points to: How to automatically switch audio devices?. Alternatively, try look in Bluetooth Device not Found on T42P or Bluetooth Device Not Found. Maybe...?

Best regards,

Johan

I am assuming you are running XP SP2. I think that the driver you installed is wrong and I would uninstall it. (It is for XP before SP1) I believe if you have SP2 installed, you don't need to do anything. Hit FN-F5 and a miracle will occur.

Well, I am making progress. Using the FnF5 key, I finally got the BT turned on. Now to get my cell phone paired up and working with Sprint Connection Manager. I'm using my phone to access the network while traveling.

Thanks.

Thanks! You were correct....I have SP2 and I did uninstall the driver. Seems to work fine now.
