Pulling out ac adapter while thinkpad is still on. Bad?

#1 Post by thinkpadhk » Mon Nov 22, 2004 1:54 am

Hi all.

I had my ac adapter plugged into my thinkpad and I accidentally pulled it out while my machine was booting. My thinkpad made a beep sound and continued on battery power. Is this a bad thing to do? Is there a possibility I might have messed up my thinkpad?

It will make a beep if you plug it in when it's on, or take it out when it's on. As far as I know, there is no issue at all about this being bad.

If there was, I would probably be looking for a different computer, as this would be ridiculous, and EXTREMELY frustrating and inefficient at times.

No, there is nothing wrong in doing that as long as you have juice in your battery. Even if there wasnt, your computer wouldnt suffer too much.

The only time I would advise against that happening is when you're installing an OS i.e. Windows. Go fig right...lol
