Is there T4x modular bay weight saver?

Is there any weight saver available for the modular bay in T4x (for CD/DVD drive). I hardly bring my DVD-RW so I'd like to cover it properly.

Fujitsu E series have a convenient weight saver to replace the modular bay drive. I think new T61 has but not for T4x?? (not sure).

If it's NOT, is it difficult to make one. Any material to DIY or advise is welcome.

yeah, i actually still have mine from my T42 an it was definitely nice to have. I use it sometimes on the T60 even tho it doesn't match perfectly it still works. It chopped off an extra i dunno, about 8oz or something once replacing the optical drive. It does definitely make the system easier on the shoulders

Also an empty ultrabay - hdd adapter would fit fine (won't weight many grams). And it is easy to attach the hdd when you need it.

The weight saver (P/N: 62P4331) is still lighter than the Ultrabay HDD adapter and it doesn't comprise any connector at all. It costs almost nothing on IBM's site. I paid 2 or 3 EURO for mine and IBM didn't charge any shipping cost.

How about simply removing the drive and using the machine without anything?
What possible damage could be done?
This is what I am doing. Does not seem to cause any trouble.

no damage really but the drive ads to the structural integrity of the system. That plus getting all sort of dust and all that in there can't possibly be good. I'm sure it probably will mess with air flow in the system too. Lots of air is good but directed air is much better.
