IBM T40 USB Problem

Reformatted the drive and manually installed the principle drivers till it was all clear in device manager. I did this because 'system update' kept telling me there was an 'error' installing. flashed the bios installed the 'embedded controller update although it prompted me it wasn't necessary, made sure all service packs were uptodate and made sure the usb device was enabled in the bios....Still both usb port don't work...

Maybe there is a driver I havn't installed?

Updated the bios but now I'm getting an error in installing the embedded controller...I'm guessing but thats probaly the problem?

I have had the same thing fail and have updated it using a floppy.
