T42p 15" with external widescreen monitor help!!!!!

About the ongoing debate whether or not to release a widescreen T-series I have to say I like the footprint my current Thinkpad have, although I would like to have widescreen while in the office on my external TFT monitor.

I´m seriously thinking about bying a Sony 23,4" 1900*1200 LCD, but not if I can´t get the resolution from my Fire GL T2 card...
