Help! IBM Update connector problem

IBM Update Connector 6.1 stops working and hang with its splash creen. First, I wonder if we can update drivers from IBM website, what is IBM update connector 6.1 used for? Second, it only works 3 times since I bought my new T42 2378 FVU. I don't know if you have similar problem with that. I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it from IBM Tool folder. The problem persists.

Anyone knows more about this problem, please help me. Thank you.

I have the same problem. The UC splash screen hangs until I kill javaw.exe in task manager. I've updated drivers, rolled back to an earlier UC version, reinstalled 6.1.
