One "stupid" question

I wonder if there is a way I can get the CD1 of recovery disk for my T40. IBM shipped me a set but CD1 is broken.

P.S. My unit is out of warranty, so I cannot get one free from IBM.

Well if you call them and tell them that the one they sent you is no good then they may just suprise you.

I think it's worth a shot. Tell them you haven't needed to use the CDs till now, and now you don't know what to do, because you can't restore your computer.

If it's just one CD, they may be cool about it.

I have just called IBM, and to my surprise, they said they will probably send a new set earlier next week.

IBM is IBM.
