What keys do you re-assign using the Keyboard Customizer?

#1 Post by none » Wed Nov 24, 2004 12:55 pm

I have been itching for a Windows key as of late, heh... But I don't want to give up my left Ctrl, Alt, or Shift, because I am left handed, and I use those keys all the time in Flash, Photoshop, etc... I was thinking of remapping the right Ctrl key to Windows.

Logic behind that is that if I am going to use the start menu without the cursor, then my hand will already be near the right Ctrl key, on the arrow keys.

What kind of config do you use? Any ideas?

I read in another thread that someone remapped his caps-lock as Windows-Key.

Well, I think that I never had to use CAPS in the 14-years of PC-use....... Maybe it's a great idea to use it as Windows-key... and if you are left handed it may even fit your requirements better than mine ;)

i wrote about finding this:

"
searching across the web i came across this:

http://www.schlackman.org/programs/thinkpad.html

thinkpad button customiser.
"

as i understand this can remap the thinkpad button(aka access ibm) to
windows key.
as i understood this is not possible withe the ibm keyboard remap utility.
but maybe i am misinformed.
