T42 Lemon

I hava a T42. It's been great when working, but into EZ Serve Repair over 15 Times!!! Then, last week, it was returned from EZ Serve repair, and when plugged in was LITERALLY smoking!!! AND they left a sharp screw protruding UP THROUGH the palmrest!!!!

Short story is, they agreed to replace it! I got a messgae on Friday that a "replacement coordinator" will call on Monday. Here is my question:

WHAT will the replce it with? As far as I know, IBM does not sell T42's. Will they "cobble together" one from parts? Or will they send me another model?

Anyones experience with this?

I've made this kind of mistake myself, put a long screw through the palm rest. Nevertheless this is clearly an in experienced tech.

I was a tech while in college too. The machines too hard to fix are called "Dogs" and left on the bench a few days until someone decides to scrap it and send a replacement to the customer.
