Which processor does it have? (2373-7CU)

#1 Post by ahammad » Sat Jan 26, 2008 11:16 pm

The model is a 2373-7CU T40 with a Pentium M 1.5

Is it a Dothan or what? I was looking at Pentium M and there are two kinds: Pentium M 1.5 or Pentium M 715. So which one is this?

Thanks

No - if it is the original CPU, it is Banias.

It shouldn't matter to anything.

The 715 is a Dothan 1.5ghz, but being a T40 you have a Banias 1.5Ghz (705)

The CPU used in T40 and T41 were P-M based on 130nM process with 1MB L2 cache. The 715 is based on 90nM and have 2MB L2 cache.

The highest you can go is a 2.1 Ghz 765 Dothan I believe...

There are several threads on upgrading T40's in this forum, for more info you should try the "search" feature.

You can upgrade your machine to a 2.1GHz Pentium M CPU.
