T43P memory banks

#1 Post by rpmorrison » Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:55 am

My T43P came with 512 MB and I added 512 MB to it. Is it possible for the end user to upgrade the original 512 MB that came standard on this machine with a 1 GB and then I want to add 1 GB in the expansion slot so that I can have a total of 2 GB of RAM. Is this all possible and if so where would I find some instructions on how to do this.

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

Rob Morrison

Yes, it is possible. I'm currently looking at T43p with 2Gb RAM about 4 feet away from me... :D

You'll have to remove the keyboard to be able to replace the DIMM which is under it. To make your life easier, go to Lenovo's website and download the appropriate manual for your model.

These are fine machines and you'll love the upgrade once you've performed it...

Yes, it's possible.

There are movies on the Lenovo web site that show you how to do it...

George,

Thank you for the input. I downloaded the manual and it is very good. it seems pretty easy to remove the keyboard. I have one other question for you since I do not see it in the manual. Is the DIMM under the keyboard the same as the other DIMM or are they different?

Thanks

Rob
