my T43p recovery CDs no worky

#1 Post by RecoveryBoy » Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:09 pm

Hey all, new to this forum, so I apologize in advance for my ignorance. I created recovery CDs for my T43p a while back and have only recently had reason to use them...and they don't seem to work. When either using the boot option or the Access IBM option I get the same issue - I am prompted to put the "Final C" CD into the drive - which, of course, I don't seem to have (tried all 6).

Any suggestions? (or, anyone want to buy a used T43p? - although I was hoping for it to last me until the T62's come out)

Thanks in advance.

Another choice, besides selling, is getting a new set of recovery CDs. You can send me a PM with the model number.

That sounds like the best option.

Another workaround might be found in this thread (look for the post by thormdac) -

Seems like this solution is only if there is a backup on a partition, right? My machine doesn't have one as far as I know.

Yes, this solution requires an existing recovery partition.

As you've made a backup set from your T43, I thought your recovery partition was still intact. But if that's not the case, then Product Recovery discs are the best option.
