Wifi on T41

#1 Post by cidmi.dovic » Sun Feb 10, 2008 10:51 am

Hi,

I have a new problem on my Thinkpad t41.
Wireless card is not running, a few days ago I tried to install a driver for using the wireless card with the aircrack software. Afer that I unistalled the Cisco driver and installed it again. Now I have the hardware with an interrogation mark and when I try to turn it on the system prompts a message "LAN is not configured...restart system"...

Could a driver spoil the wifi card???

I've tried everything, even in Linux I can't access now to the wifi card (it's enabled on Bios).

I downloaded the Lenovo System Update but I always have a message that says that there is a problem with 'proxy server'...What fu... proxy server??

Thanks.

I don't know about Cisco cards, but generally, I would say that software should not damage the card. Try uninstalling again, and after you uninstall the driver, shut down the computer. Do a cold start. It should say it has found new hardware. Point to the new driver. If it still is "not there" after this, it is probably damaged. Strange. ... JDH
