IBM use used parts to repair ?

When I check my T30. I found it got label "Serviceable Used Part". Is that mean refurb?

yep!
happened to me with a memory card that IBM replaced.

...of course, that memory card was non-functional and the notebook would crash after 5 minutes.
Needless to say that I was quite [censored] off!

Problem with used stuff is: you don't know what happened before. The tests might show a fully working device, but there might be sporadic errors, that do not show up during tests. So I am very cautious.
use a burn-in software (Sandra) and torture the thinkpad (over night)just to be sure, that the refurbished part is fully functional .

I just got my T40 back from EZServ and the system board they used is also a "serviceable used part." I ran Prime95 overnight just to make sure the thing was stable.

Didn't have any problems so I'm hoping there's nothing wrong with it :?

Standard practice, sadly. Nothing we can do about it.

While all the parts of your machine were new at one time, they are replacing your broken used parts with working used parts. Nothing exceptional at all about that.
