Small Electronic Pulse From Keyboard Area

#1 Post by asyarief » Sun Feb 24, 2008 5:31 am

Hi,

I have T43. Everytime I rest my fingers on the keyboard, I can feel this very small electronic pulse tingling on my finger and my palms. At this time, it really doesnt bother me much, but I am worried this thing will get worst if I dont do anything. I dont know what's causing this problem. Maybe the notebook is too hot or something. I used this notebook as my workstation so sometimes it is on for more than 24 hrs.

Anybody experience this before ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Asyarief

I had this on my 600e when using a two prong supply.

If your power supply AC cable only has two prongs, you might consider a three prong supply which also contains an earth wire. This may remove the residual 'effect' from your keyboard area.

Try to plug the machine into a ground fault interrupter. (the kind of plugs in newer kitchens and bathrooms) See if it trips.

I would also try removing the keyboard and make sure the bottom s not bend or warped anywhere. It may be possible that an area of the keyboard is touching some part of the computer that is causing the electrical discharge. while you have the keyboard out, use a can of air duster to clean out the inside of the computer. Put it all back together and see if this helps
I have finally rejoined the dark side.
