wireless issue

so my friend gave me his t42 thinkpad and asked me to format it without giving me any restore cds or anything

so i format it and everything goes well but i seem to have an issue with the wireless ethernet

i cant seem to install the drivers for it nor does the wlan light turn on
fn+f5 doesnt seem to work

any help is appreciated thanks

FYI, Lenovo/IBM has a utility called ThinkVantage System Update which you can download (free!), and which will automatically detect and download all the newest drives for your T42. Beware that it is safest to make a Windows "System Restore Point" before launching the Lenovo Sustem Update... in the case something goes wrong!

To manually find (and download) any driver, go to Lenovo - Downloads and drivers, enter your ThinkPad type and model - and that will take you to Drivers and software - ThinkPad T42, T42p.
