I bought an (I believe) an HP Multiburner DVD "UJ-832" with hopes of putting it in my T41. The 30 pin connector was different than what is on the Thinkpad.
I also found a successful way to remove multi pin chips and practiced a little bit on the an old zip drive to show that it could be done without
damaging the pins.
Does anyone have an old UJ-832, UJ-842, or UJ-852 that doesn't work that I might be able to practice on? The connector pins might be
more difficult than the 50+ pin IC chips I removed.
Secondly, I heard of an adapter plug that enables one to connect the newer DVD burners to our Thinkpads. Is that true?
