System hangs back from standby while WiFi was on

Using Access Connection. Closing lid or going standby while WiFi was on systems hangs on returning. I have tried to disconnect and switch off the adapter before standby did not help.

Somebody can help?

IBM Th. 41p 2373 - 4FG, xp 2nd, all updates (IBM or Win) installed
