Help! I'm in trial and have little screen syndrome!
Help! I'm in trial and have little screen syndrome!
I have my lappy hooked up to a projector. When I toggle to broadcast both on my lap and the projector my lap screen gets really small. It's really difficult to read.
Any thoughs? This all started after I hooked up to a different type projector last night. It's like it forced the lap to use different settings.
Thanks for any suggestions!

If you have the IBM Presentation Manager installed, all you have to do is probably to switch to a different profile. Press Fn+F7 to get to the Presentation Manager, then try some of the profiles you have there. If none is correct, press the Manage Profiles button and create a new one (or change an existing one) to suit your needs.

I get an error when I try to load it through the menus. It doesn't load at all when I press Fn-F7. It just toggles the screen.
When I was hooked up to the other projector Presentation Manager worked but not now for some reason.
Is there a place where I can download so I can reinstall Presentation Manager?

You could also try starting it from ThinkPad-Configuration program. It's on the top toolbar, sixth icon from right.
if not, here's the download page:
Presentation Director for Windows XP, 2000 - ThinkPad
Remember that the setup only decompresses files to C:\DRIVERS directory. You have to go there and start the setup.exe you find there.

Ok, I'm back in Court. I can get the Presentation Manager to come up but I'm still having the same problem.
The one that fills both screen is "Dual Display XGA.. analog external..". However, the resolution isn't high enough. I can't figure out how to fix.
When I choose the 2nd or 3rd choice on the list I get little screen syndrome still. Not sure what settings to change. I don't want an extended desktop, just mirrored.
Thanks.
EDIT: I see the problem is only when I used 32 bit color, not 16. Thoughts?

Try going to the Presentation Director (the program, not the Fn+F7 menu) and editing the profile that "almost works". Go to the Display tab and change the resolution to the native resolution of your ThinkPad. It could be XGA (1024x768), as the name of the profile says. Maybe it somehow changed to a lower one. You could also have a higher resolution LCD in your ThinkPad, in this case it will be either SXGA+ (1400×1050) or UXGA (1600x1200).
Also make sure that you don't have the magnify function active (Fn+Space) which simply lowers the resolution.
Avoid changing the display settings of Windows directly if you use the Presentation Director. Go there and edit the profiles instead.

When I change the settings of the laptop screen in Presentation Director it changes the settings to the projector to match for some reason.
My laptop default is 1400x1050. So, the projector tries to project at that size. If I go smaller on the laptop then the projector matches it.
Most projectors handle 1024x768. However, when I use that setting on my laptop the screen on my laptop gets really small so it's really difficult to read.
I've tested on 3 different projectors, one of them being brand new, and it happens on all of them.
I'm lost.

When you create a new profile in Presentation Manager, click the Extend Desktop radio button option. Then you can set both display resolution separately. 1400x1050 for your LCD and 1024x768 or other resolution for your projector.
During presentation, just grab the program you want to show and move it up on the projector screen.
Some applications must use the master desktop space and won't work on the extended desktop space in full screen mode but most will work on the extended desktop space.

Check your bios setting and make sure that you have 'LCD expansion' setting active ...
