Hi all,
I ordered my T42 (2378-FVU) yesterday, and today the serial number posted on the order status page, so I looked up the parts it's shipping with.
I got the Thai Keyboard (whoo!) FRU 08K5044
But, I noticed that I got a Fujitsu HDD. How reliable are these drives? I've had really foul experiences with Fujitsu drives in the past. I was thinking about getting a 40 GB Hitachi Travelstar 5K80 to replace it and dumping the Fujitsu on eBay.
So, based on your experiences.... how reliable/good/decent are the Fujitsu drives ( mine's P/N is 13N6718 Description: 40GB HARD DRIVE, FUJITSU ZEUS40-40 1P, 5 ).
Thanks in advance!

Warren,
no problem with Fujitsu drives. I have been using Travelstars and Fujitsu for a couple of years now. With the newest technology (no ball bearings anymore) they are both very reliable.
IBM delivers Fujitsu in their T-Series as well.
Actually, I have completely moved to Fujitsu now, because they are way more silent when seeking across the disk.
Anyway, you can go with either brand, Fujitsu is a bit less expensive (probably higher production volume).
Cheers,
Zaphod
