T4X MDC USB Pinout?

#1 Post by defor » Sat Mar 15, 2008 4:18 pm

I'm curious about adding an alternate internal usb device to my T42p, replacing the MDC board, and using the usb signal off it.

Anyone had the pinout of this modified MDC board?

Hmm, nice idea and a good question. Unfortunately I can't answer but I would also be curious to know it.

Using a multimeter to find it out could be a problem since the D+/D- signals most probably go directly to the chipset (even the external USBs are connected directly).

Does this help?

edit: In case you're curious how I found this... Google: "modem daughter card pinout"; it was the first link. Total time to find it: 1 minute (most of that was trying to figure out what MDC meant).

Thanks but unfortunately not much. The ThinkPad CDC connector is a 40 pin connector, this Intel one you've found has 30. This is understandable as the one you've found is a modem connector whereas ThinkPad one also supports PCI and USB devices.

The ThinkPad CDC connector can be seen on these system board scans.

Have you found something ?
Google seems to know nothing relevant.
