I think these are slim drives, right? Since your T22 has Ultrabay 2000, you need to get the ThinkPad Slim Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000, which allows you to use Ultrabay Slim drives in Ultrabay 2000. But my much cheaper suggestion would be to get a new Ultrabay 2000 CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive from Ebay.

Hey,

Thanks Ian. Nice to see you too. I'm doing fine. I just work too much, so have less time to participate here.

While both of these devices are compatible with the T22, they require an adapter in order to fit in the T22's UltraBay 2000 optical drive bay due to the fact that they are only 9.5mm thick and meant for the T4X and R5X series machines equipped with an UltraBay Slim drive bay.

There are many CD writers and combo drives in the 12.5mm thick form factor used by the T22, all of which are much cheaper and have better specifications than the 9.5mm drives.

Does that help?
