FreeBSD 5.3 on TP 30

I just installed FreeBSD 5.3 on my TP30. Installation was no problem after getting used to the differences between this and Linux.
I have problems with sound and APM. I made a new kernel and KDE reports that "sndstat" is loaded but I hear nothing when playing a file. APM "almost" works. Closing lid makes it go into sleep but the screen is all messed up when it starts again.

I have searched the net but haven't found any page describing the sound and APM procedure in a simple way. Can anyone help me? or direct me to a web page?

I found the solution, alot simpler than expected (as usual)
