Best 14" vs. 15" thread for comparison purposes

So many people ask about these two machines.

Here is (IMHO) the best thread here on the subject:

http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... ight=14+15

It has pictures that clearly show the size difference. If you are familiar with the "regular" 14" form factor, you will clearly see the 15" machines are larger.

I love me 2373-KXU. It *is* noticeably bigger than the 14" and that's just fine with me. Portability wasn't a major driving factor for me, nor was airplane use, if those are for you, I would recommend the 14".

On the UXGA vs. SXGA+ issue, I have to say, I love UXGA, but it is smaller than I'd like sometimes. That said, it's also PERFECT most of the time, like in MS Word when I can EASILY view and edit two screens of a document on screen at once. Also, since my desktop machine runs at 1600x1200 as well, it's nice to have them both "in symmetry."

I bought my KXU shortly after seeing one in person. My initial reactions have been validated. It *IS* bigger than the 14", just not so much so to be an issue for me. But it did take me seeing one in person to be sure that was the best one *FOR ME*.

My Flexview screen is substantially brighter and clearer than any other Thinkpad display I've ever seen. It also eats juice like there's no tomorrow, so, I've got three batteries - 6 cell, 9 cell, and ultrabay slim.

The performance of this particular Thinkpad, with its fast hard drive, very powerful video, and great processor, makes it an all-around awesome machine. Truly amazing. And, I must say, bill@thinkpads.com provided outstanding service.

Hope this helps,

Oh man, too bad those pics seem to be gone, they are just what I was looking for. Does anyone else have pics comparing the 14" and 15" T42's?
