You might remember previously when I asked about restoring to factory settings after receiving my old work laptop from my defunct company. I was able to get the 8 disk set and completed the entire restore to factory settings this morning.
However, now, even after going in to bios and changing the boot order back to default (and then manually moving my HD to the top, as well), the laptop starts up with the Rescue and Recovery menu with no way to get out of it except to reboot (rinse, repeat) or proceed with factory reinstall.
Any suggestions?
Thanks so much,
Meg

I know just enough to get me in trouble.
Apparently, I didn't finish the process, which was NOT OBVIOUS at all. Even though it said the process was complete, I had to put the bootable disk back in a second time and THEN reset the BIOS to factory settings and it seems to be finally booting in Windows now, and updating drivers.
maybe this will help someone else one day.
