T42 FAQ

Hi all, I am working on a T42 FAQ. I have worked up a preliminary version. It is very much so a work in progress. What I would appreciate is good, non-biased, well-written, concise answers to anything in the FAQ you feel you could answer well. The goal here is to start keeping a FAQ, which hopefully will get added to often, to help out people with things that seem to frequently come up. Just post the answer back up here so that everyone else can see them. Alternatively, if there is a good thread that manges to stay on subject (knock on wood) and is to the point, then just posting a link to that thread for an answer is even better yet. Remember to say what you are posting an answer for. Thanks for the help.

P.S. Please take all the time you need to respond back. Quality is much better than quantity. And there is no hurry whatsoever. Even if someone else answers before you, if you feel you can contribute a better answer, please feel free to submit that. I will pick out the best answers and use them.

I realized that I should give an example of what constitutes a good entry. I will have one up in 3-4 hours, after I am through with class for the morning.

Feel free to suggest new categories. Also, if you are wanting to give me an entry, pretty much any format is acceptable. I am a pretty big fan of hyperlinks that are embedded into the text as many of the links are excruciatingly long for the IBM pages. If you use links, make sure you give me a format that makes them readily accessible so that I can put them into Word.

Hi all,

I updated the FAQ to v0.20 by spending a few hours and finishing up just about all of the key entries. Most of the other entries left that aren't completed I am contempltaing cutting out. As usual, if you have any comments, feel free to drop me a note. Hope it helps someone out there. Sorry for the long delay in the update.
