Using the T40 TouchPad as a Mini Tablet

I really want to use the UltraNav touchpad as a mini tablet, using a pen to make annotations and graphics in Word and MS OneNote 2003.
The touchpad can do this, but I found no software solution to make that work.
:?
I was very disappointed, that only my finger can be detected. But I need a pen. At least, as an extra option, this would be fantastic!

It actually can detect it, but it is setup such that it doesn't key on that as it assumes it is anamolous since it is such a small point. The touchpad is a Synaptics on the IBM and my HP notebook also had one, but with its driver I could alter what it would key on as the minimal area needed to be detected as a "touch", thus making it work like a tablet by lowering it. Basically, it tells the touchpad

if( (contiguous area touched) < minumum finger area)
then ignore touch

The touchpad also has a setting that does the opposite, called palm check. It sets the maximum area which is interperted as a "touch". If you exceed that area, then it says "oh, that must be a palm touching me, I'll ignore that then." So, if you can find an appropriate driver you should be able to set it to work as a mini tablet.

Thanks for the info.
I already checked the Synaptics web site and tried the utility SketchPad. Nice, but could not be integrated somehow to Word. :(
However, it seems that the Ultranav is only using capacity differences from the finger, therefore it did not work with and pen or metal object. Only the finger works. Maybe the pen of the TransNote might work, since that is possibly based on capacity sensors as well.
Anyone any idea?
:(
Further, I could not find the plug-in for windows or Word as described in the Synaptics help menus.
