That's backwards, regardless of what the UPS site might say. They enter the US and clear customs in Anchorage where UPS has an enormous sorting facility (I've been there!) at Elmendorf AFB that serves as the US Port of Entry for all of their shipments ex Asia, particularly Hong Kong.

I ought to call them. I believe that I have to be patient though. Which is why I want to wait till the expected ship date to be over before I call.
Why are you waiting? In that email they sent you, it's clear the IBM isn't processing your order so waiting for the "expected ship date" will get you nowhere.

Ok I got my T42 So I am happy!! The down side one dead pixel:( To all the people here that have looked for dead pixels have you looked with different colors on the background? I shows up on the lower left of the screen when I make the background red. I knew it would happen to me!! Now do I RMA it or not?

Excellent. Mine is about an hour away. Congratulations!

As far as the dead pixel and RMA-ing, I personally wouldn't RMA unless it seriously bothered me. One pixel out of either 1400x1280 or 1600x1200 is hardly anything. But that's just my opinion.

I guess I am stupid and patient. But I dont need pad to stay alive. Funny how when I see everyone getting their thinkpad...I am sooo mess up psychologically. I am thinking isnt it suppose to be first come first serve.
In anycase, I think my order was mess up because of the first couple of days the IBM site was funny.

They just skipped me and went on to others. Not bothering to check on me, to see whether I am still interested in my order.
Well, you paid quality money, so you expect certain things in return from IBM: ie, timely service. I called 3 or 4 times between ordering and it shipping just to make sure everything was running smoothly, sometimes it's good to call and keep tabs on what's going on...can't really trust these companies too much.

Got it!

Ordered last Tuesday and in my sweaty palms today - 1 week and a day is pretty nice considering they were quoting 2-4 weeks.

Plus, no dead pixels! I am noticing a difference in color warmth(?) between the left and right sides - do you think this is normal? I'd hate to RMA this especially with the lack of dead/hot pixels...

Could you guys put the model # of your Thinkpad in your signature or something? I would like to know what you have without looking back at your first posts. (No big deal, just would make things a lot clearer on here)
