So, now that IBM is selling the personal computing division, does it make sense to pay for a 3-year warranty, or to make do with a 1-year warranty. Service standards probably won't change much in one year, but two or three years down the road? Any opinions? Thanks.

1-Year versus 3-Year Warranty
In this article a german IBM representative states that IBM will do the service for another five years. I'd go for the three year warranty.
It's a trick. Get an axe.
