hello,
I have a t41.
Can I use an external monitor with 1920x1200 resolution?
I can get higher than that but every resolution possible is 4:3 and my external tv is 16:9.
Is there a program that can force a resolution?
P.S. I do not have a docking station and my configuration is ATI Mobility 7500.
t41 external display 16:9
yes, you should be able to.. I have my T41 driving a Dell ultrasharp 24" monitor at 1920x1200. Make sure you get the latest video drivers. If you can not find 1920x1200, go to the display properties, settings, advanced, monitor and uncheck the "hide modes that this monitor cannot display", then go to adapter page and you should see 1920x1200xXXbits

According to the New IBM ThinkPad T41 notebook computers - Announcement Letters it there says:
The above is also seen in the Detailed specifications - ThinkPad T41/p so I thought that these resolutions were hardware-limited, and could not be altered by e.g. a new driver... interesting! About 1920x1200 on a T41, see the thread Can't display 1400x1050 using T40 and external monitor in particluar the post by dpm_dpmartin of Tue Sep 18, 2007 12:42 pm with comments about actual experience w/1920x1200 on a Dell 2707WFP.
T41 drivers are found at T41 - Downloads and drivers.

with the help of the forums, i downloaded catalyst 7.4 drivers and modded them.
I managed to achieve 1920x1200 on my external monitor.
The problem is that my external monitors' resolution is actually 1920x1080 (full hd) and the image is a little bit distorted.
I can select 1920x1080 resolution but it is not working.
Is there a fix for forcing 1920x1080?
Thank you very much for your help.
