Can I recreate system install discs from restore partition?

#1 Post by wb0gaz » Thu Apr 24, 2008 3:20 pm

Existing T43, want to re-install OS, would prefer to start with restore CDs and use a different HDD (to keep the existing HDD intact.) Can I regenerate restore CDs from the machine itself? Would the contents of the restore partition (~4 GB?) written to a DVD-R and booted with DOS work with a bare HD?

Very tks,

Dave

I do not think it is possible to do this. On the T60, you can create the recovery disks once the system is running but this feature may not be available on the T43.

Dave, I did this with a T41.
See if this HPA.PDF helps you as it did me.
