Like a new machine

#1 Post by dwilsonfl » Fri Apr 25, 2008 10:51 pm

I had several things to do to my T40 so I waited until I could do them all at once. I installed an a/b/g wireless card to replace the old b one. I installed a new CPU - a 1.7 Dothan replacing the 1.3 Banias. And then I replaced my old keyboard with a new one.

Wow!

Big difference! Like a new machine.

So now it's a T40, 1.7 Dothan, 1 gig RAM, a/b/g Wireless, 100 gig 7200 RPM Hard Drive machine. I LIKE it!

I've been using it with Audacity to capture our church worship service. When I closed and saved the file, it would take anywhere from 14-18 minutes. Today it did it in 8.

I think the processor change was worth it.
