Help on T43 display upgrade
I installed a T41P's SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) on T43 (2668-44U, ATI X300 video card). It can't display as 1400 x 1050, but can set to other options, such as 1680 x 1050. In Display advance setting/adapter, list all modes and no 1400x1050 option.
I had upgraded the drivers for ATI and LCD monitor, no luck.
Is this display not work in my model? I checked and found 2668-46U came with SXGA+ display. They looks same with CPU/video card...
Anyone can give me a hand?

Welcome to the forum!
Give it some time, and be patient, most people browse the forum over the weekend...
And try not to bump your thread too often or it might get locked...
In my opinion, the answer to your issue is within software, and not hardware. You should not be able to even see a 1680x1050 setting as an option.
Try running a "live" Linux CD and see what happens...

Thanks your suggestions.
I am running Window XP (prof.) in my model. I have no clue how to work with Linux.

The only reason for sending you the Linux route was to see whether it would boot in the SXGA+ mode, and therefore decide whether you're dealing with software or hardware issue.
Is the XP that you're using from IBM restore disks/partition, or a vanilla version?
Have you tried playing with display properties to get where you'd like to be?

I am running Win XP from partition. Today I reinstall a smaller hard drive with recovery CDs, and found it same - no 1400x1050 option.
The reason I have 1680 x 1050 in current HD would be the fact that, in order to use a 22" display, the minitor driver was installed and thus give me more options.
Kindly give me some idea how to run a test w/ Linux. Thanks!

OK, a couple of things here:
a) Would you happen to have a FRU for the LCD that you've installed?
b) What happened to the original one from your T43?
c) Can you set the resolution to 1280x1024?
As for Linux, go to: www.linuxmint.com and download a copy of Daryna 4.0 Main Edition (I'm only saying this because I'm familiar with it and can walk you through it easier than I would be able with another distro) and burn yourself a CD. Boot from it, and if it doesn't boot in 1400x1050 you most likely have a hardware issue that leaves me baffled...
Good luck and let us know.

ajkula66, again, thanks your idea
I finally fix it - uninstall the existing drive, download the new one, and reinstall.
