The blue screen terror

Just as I thought my T41p was coming back on and working fine again. I made a big mistake and now it shows me repeatedly a blue screen when I try to reboot the system.

Before I went to bed I closed the lid and almost immediately I unplugged the AC. As soon as I realized that my battery was not with the computer I sensed something might go wrong. It did. The reboot doesn't work even if I choose the safe mode option. All I get is a blue screen following a few seconds of Windows XP rebooting image. The error is 'unmountable_boot_volume'. It suggests to use safe mode, but that doesn't help.

Anyone has any idea what might have gone wrong? It's really frustrating to make such a stupid mistake after just recovering my computer.
