Bad LCD cable? LCD turns white when lifted

#1 Post by t20user » Sat Dec 11, 2004 11:01 pm

My LCD goes all white when I lift it at certain angles. It will go away if I lift it a little more/less. Sometimes the screen flickers until I get it in the right spot. This sounds like the cable is getting unplugged when opening the laptop.

I read a lot of people have had problems with the LCD cable, and replaced it. Is there a way to verify that it is in fact the cable?

Thanks

those cables can wear out if flexed many times..

same problem on the old 701C..

look around for a replacement..

very unlikely that there is a lose plug, but you would be smart to check it..
you'll need to become familiar with the procedure anyway.. :)

Well I tore it apart and reseated the cable at the mobo and inverter. That seems to have worked. But judging from what I have read around here, I wont count on it for long. At least these beasts are simple to work on.
