Dead Pixel - Stuck Pixel? Does 1 dead pixel lead to another?

#1 Post by lynnja » Wed May 07, 2008 8:48 pm

I have one dead pixel on my new T42. Does one dead pixel mean trouble for the LCD, or is it an isolated thing?

I came across a free program that can fix dead or stuck pixels. Is this true? It is a blue colored pixel, dead center in the screen.

They tend to be isolated.

The "dead pixel fixers" supposedly work sometimes, but they haven't for me. However, my dead pixel seems to have disappeared on it's own later on somehow.

There are different methods for trying to fix a stuck pixel. The applications work by trying to force the pixel to change, but it isn't always a sure thing. Another method is to gently massage the pixel with one of your nails.

Here's a little more information.

And you're sure it's not just the ultranav driver bug?
Press the middle ultranav button (just above the touchpad) and see if the dead/lit pixel dissappears.

I have ahad a dead pixel on my T41 for 2 years now. It has never multiplied, and I can't imagine how one would.

Mine is in the corner away from normal view, that stinks that yours is in the middle, you will certainly notice it more.
