How to upgrade BIOS and Embedded Controller on T40 ?

Hello
I want to update the BIOS on my T40 (2373-8CG) because it is a little out dated

BIOS Version 2.12 (1RET85WW)
EC 2.04


I looked on the Lenovo site, and there was a bios update available
BIOS 3.23
EC 3.04

I would like to update, but don't know how.
Should i update EC first, or BIOS first ??

And how can i update? Because my T40 doesn't have a floppy drive, and i don't have an USB floppy.

I think, the regulars will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm assuming you're running WinXP. Just download the 2 files that you need, BIOS and EC, you can run the files in Windows, update your BIOS first then the EC. I think there is a text file also associated with the downloads, I think it also instructs you in there to do the BIOS first.

Taken frolm the readme.txt file:

For all users:
- This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program
Version 3.04 (or higher). Please obtain the additional package,
Embedded Controller Program Version 3.04 (or higher), and update
Embedded Controller Program in the system with it.
- If you need to update Embedded Controller Program as well as the
BIOS, update BIOS first.

Nevermind. Already found out to first update the BIOS, and then the EC.

Latest BIOS and latest EC installed

Installed the BIOS update first, and after that the EC update.
