Found new hardware "Net" on T40p

Hello

Sometime in the past few weeks my T40p (2373-g1g) has started finding the new device "Net" on start-up.

I can't seem to find a driver for this (and haven't made any changes to the machine).

It appears as "Unknown device" under Network adapters in Device Manager.

There's no information in the properties that I can see will help me.

Can anyone suggest a next-step?

The machine appears to be running OK on XP-SP3 (although I had the same problem under SP2) apart from the much documented wireless drivers and access connections not working together, so I've dropped AC.

Other applications that run:
- AVG v8
- Acronis
- that's about it.

Well, I'm guessing your T40p has an ethernet adapter and a wireless adapter - do they both show up under network devices in Device Manager? Also, some programs install software adapters (eg AOL). Do you have anyhting like that on your computer?

Thanks for the response.

Both wired and wireless are installed and working, but I did install (and then remove) Virtualbox a while ago. Perhaps it's a legacy from that?

I guess that I can live with it.
