T43 Recovery disc use

Greetings

Having had some luck fixing up a T30, I want to try my hand on a T43 and I have a couple of questions before I start.

1: When using the recovery disc set(7) can the orginal hidden partition be restored by starting with an unpartioned HDD as on the T30 ??

2: Can the FDD lead ptno:27L0524 be safley used on the T43 as the spec guide say FDD by usb or docking solutions only ??

First question: Yes. A disk with nothing on it works fine.

Second: I don't know about that part number, but I have P/N 27L0526 (FRU 27L0525) which connects to an ultrabay 2000 floppy on one end and a small connector that fits something on a docking station. I also have an adapter p/n 08k6359 (FRU 08k6360) that goes from the small connector to a parallel port. My adapter will not work on a T43 but will work with the donking station that goes with a T43. Having said that, I use a USB floppy because it is easier to deal with than the adapters

So my recovery plan should work.

Checking my lead for your numbers it seems we both have the same one, I quoted the accessory list number for the assembly.

Looks like a trip to the store for a usb FDD then.
