Using fingerprint reader

#1 Post by Jungsta » Wed Dec 15, 2004 1:29 pm

I just bought a 2373 M3U with fingerprint reader, and I can't seem to find out how to set fingerprints for internet passwords and email (specifically MS Outlook) passwords. Unfortunately, the T42 does not come with a good instruction manual on this. Does anybody know how to set internet passwords, and better yet, where I can get a detailed manual on how to use fingerprint reader?

Thanks.

I have the same issues. I scanned my prints but am reluctant to set it up without knowing how to disable it if it locks me out of anything.
Nor can I figure out how to use it at all. the lack of documentation is appalling.

how is it going to lock you out of anything? unless you burn the tips of your fingers off with acid then you swipe you authenticated?

wheres the problem?

I don't know how this works, but I've yet to see a scanning program that ALWAYS gets OCR correct.... I have burned my finger before -- would a small change in fingerprint make it not usable?

Is this, in fact, 100% reliable? Or, like all the rest of my equipment, will it fail the night before a big project is due? (like my printer always runs out of ink after stores close, but only when I don't have a spare....)

Thats right. I would be very surprised if it worked 100% of the time. I need to know that if necessary, I can disable it by keying in a password.
BTW, I scanned all of my prints except for my thumbs and it didn't always accept the scan.
