Replacement: inductor "1R7M" to all Radeon9600 own

#1 Post by screwdriver » Wed Jun 04, 2008 12:04 pm

hello,
my inductor is broke (lies directly under the touchpad) and needs to be replaced. does anybody have a broke motherboard to take it from?

I already asked the manufacturer for it, but the inductor is not available any more. there is another one which has an inductance of 1.8 µH instead of 1.7 µH and the D.C.R. is 12.2 instead of 7.0 mOhm (max). can I use this one or is the resistance too high?

thank you

Who is the manufacturer of the inductor? I have found a Sumida 1R7M with 22.8mOhm resistance. There's also ones from Kitagawa and J.W. Miller. Do you have a picture/scan of it? I'm not near any of my disassembled T4x systems to check.

I'm pretty sure it's sumida.
CDRH10D43FBNP-1R7M was the part number, the new version has the following number: CDRH10D43RNP-1R8P.
the main differences are the inductance of +0,1 µH and the higher resistance +5,2 mOhm. I could get a sample of the inductor but I don't know if the differences are too severe.

I'm sure you probably already have it, but for future reference, here's a datasheet on the original 1R7 inductor:

http://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-p ... -1R7M.html

and the version that has apparently replaced it:

http://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-p ... -1R8P.html

I'm not a circuit designer so I can't tell you what the 0.1uH and 5.2mOhm difference will do. I'll see if I can find a better replacement.

thank you for your help.
indeed I have seen many datasheets doing my search and you found the right ones!
