T43 Temperamental booting

#1 Post by boac69 » Sat Jun 07, 2008 1:59 am

Greetings All

My T43 has just recently on occasions started to single beep on start, it beeps once and stops, I try again and it starts no problems, it passes all the PC Docter tests, works fine and shuts down ok.

Do I have a problem ????

A single beep indicates a motherboard fault, I believe and that worries me.

The only things that I have done recently were to add extra memory and remove and refitt the HDD having recorded pt/no and ser/no.

As usual any advice is welcome.
Many thanks
Graeme

I'm a firm believer that if you do something to a computer and it's behavior changes as a result, the first thing you should try is to reverse what you recently did to see if that was the cause.
