So, I have updated the drivers and utility from the system update already. Windows media player(9.00.00.4503) program has this problem also. what should I do ?

PS: Windows XP SP3 ,CPU 1.6 Ghz , Ram 256 MB , VGA ATI Radeon 7500

Dunno about that app, but running XP, you really ought to consider adding another 256 MB or 512 MB to your system. 1 GB total RAM or better will help Windows in general. Just my two cents.
2668-75U T43, 2GB RAM, 2nd hand NMB kybd, Dock II, spare Mini-Dock, and spare Port Replicators. Wacom BT tablet. Ultrabay 2nd HDD.
2672-KBU X32, 1.5GB RAM, 7200 rpm TravelStar HDD.

Any reason you're not using WinDVD that came with the computer? Also, could be yet another SP3 issue. And, yes, you need more memory!

The T42 is more than capable of playing any commercial DVD, especially with a Gb or more of memory. It's a software issue.

And how about Windows Media Player? Try the DVD in that. If it doesn't play, it's a problem with the DVD. If it does, I'd suspect the third party app.

For Windows Media Player, I found that problem , when I played the DVD only.

I believe Windows Media Player 9.0 will not play DVDs without a software decoder (which should be supplied, in this case, by the PowerDVD player). Still think it's a software issue.
