Difference between the UltraNav drivers/uiltities/wizards?

#1 Post by XCoalMiner » Thu Jun 26, 2008 2:21 pm

I'm looking at the Mouse/TrackPoint list of drivers for a T41. It has the following listed (XP only, Vista specific excuded):
  • TrackPoint Driver for Windows Vista 32-bit, XP

UltraNav driver for Windows XP, 2000

UltraNav Utility for Windows Vista, XP

    UltraNav Wizard for Windows 2000/XP - ThinkPad R40, R50, R50p, R51, R52, R60, T30, T40, T40p, T41, T41p, T42, T42p, T43, T43p, T60, T60p, Z60m, Z60t, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t
There are drivers, utilities, and wizards. And there is one driver listed for only the TrackPoint. The wizard is for several different systems. In summary, if I want to uninstall/reinstall the 'UltraNav' driver, do I have to uninstall all four of these listed? I presume yes, because I see three of them (UltraNav Driver, Utility and Wizard) in the Add & Remove programs Control Panel. Missing is the TrackPoint Driver. Not clear hot to uninstall that.

This is in response to a question I posted on a Logitech support forum, for a problem with a new Logitech mouse driver 'tramping on'/'interfering with' the UltraNav settings. Logitech suggested a sequence of unistalls, and reinstalls. See here.

I'm about to give it a try, but at the extreme will it take four uninstalls, and four reboots just to get the UltraNav drivers/utilities/wizards removed?
